Google AI Research Centre 🔎 to Open in Ghana 🇬🇭 Google has announced that its Google AI research centre in Africa will open later this year in Accra, Ghana, and will bring together top machine learning researchers and engineers. Jeff Dean, Senior Fellow, Google AI, and Moustapha Cisse, Staff Research Scientist and lead of Google AI Center Accra, said in a joint post that AI has great potential to positively impact the world, and more so if the world is well represented in the development of new AI technologies. Google’s new AI center in Accra joins the list of other locations where they focus on AI, including Paris, Zurich, Tokyo, Beijing, Montreal, Toronto, Seattle, Cambridge/Boston, Tel Aviv/Haifa, New York, and our Mountain View/San Francisco headquarters. New Mass Communication Terminal built at Breman Jamra. Breman Jamra, a town in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, in the Central Region of Ghana, has had it first mass communication terminal built by MTN Ghana. This is the first of it kind since the inception of the town. The community had faced a lot of challenges in communication due to poor network transmissions in the vicinity. For many years, the community has been pleading to the stakeholders in the telecommunications industry to come to their aid. The giant in telecommunication service in Africa, MTN, emerged, out of nowhere,  to erect their mast in the community to help the people of Breman Jamra and it environs. The project is about 80% complete. Thanks to MTN Ghana for coming to the aid of the community. Below are some images from the mast site. We will keep you updated of the progress of the project.
